Angelic Conflict part 182: Human history (fear) – Psa 27; 42; 43

Class Outline:

Title: Angelic Conflict part : Human history 182 (fear) - Psa 27; 42; 43.

Fear is being overcome by the problem, becoming enmeshed in the disaster.

The disaster destroys the spiritual life rather than the advancing the spiritual life as designed by God.

A personal sense of destiny is included with the solution as each divine solution is a step in the direction of realizing the fulfilment of our PSD.

So the great problem-solving techniques of spiritual adulthood eliminate fear by equating living with dying and adversity with prosperity.

They are no different because the divine virtues of rest, peace, love, and joy do not change. Plus, they are no different because God has perfectly decreed both into His plan for your life and so they perfectly bring glory to Him when the word of God in your system of thinking is applied to both.

Fear is a great motivation in life for most people. Yet fear is totally destructive; it destroys love. Making wrong decisions out of fear destroys your capacity for life.

Fear of adversity destroys capacity for prosperity. When prosperity comes, you’re so afraid that you will lose it that, in your fear, you have absolutely no capacity for that prosperity. You may stash it all away for “a rainy day.” That’s no capacity for life. Therefore, you do not enjoy prosperity when it comes.

Fear is the enemy of the love, joy, and peace of the plan of God. It destroys any possibility of suffering for blessing in manner of Christ because suffering is always feared. This means that many things in the divine inheritance that was given to every CA believer will be lost.

Fear makes you herd bound so that you come to depend on others.

The Church Age believer cannot think, apply doctrine, or solve problems through the thinking or mind of another believer. You must have the doctrine in your own soul and solve your own problems and answer your own questions. To the extent that you depend upon others for your spiritual application to life, to that extent you are losing out on your spiritual life, which is the only life.

The opposition to God can do nothing to the child of God unless the Father allows it. So their objective is to get you to fear in your imagination of what “might” happen.

A Psalm of David.

PSA 27:1 The Lord is my light and my salvation;

Whom shall I fear?

The Lord is the defense of my life;

Whom shall I dread?

In the midst of a corrupt nation that is on the threshold of destruction Micah writes:

MIC 7:7

But as for me, I will watch expectantly for the Lord;

I will wait for the God of my salvation.

My God will hear me.

MIC 7:8

Do not rejoice over me, O my enemy.

Though I fall I will rise;

Though I dwell in darkness, the Lord is a light for me.

He states that he is not innocent, but depends on God for his salvation and forgiveness.

MIC 7:9

I will bear the indignation of the Lord

Because I have sinned against Him,

Until He pleads my case and executes justice for me.

He will bring me out to the light,

And I will see His righteousness.

ISA 50:10

Who is among you that fears the Lord,

That obeys the voice of His servant,

That walks in darkness and has no light [trial/affliction]?

Let him trust in the name of the Lord and rely on his God.

ISA 12:2

"Behold, God is my salvation,

I will trust and not be afraid;

For the Lord God is my strength and song,

And He has become my salvation."

ISA 26:3-4

"The steadfast of mind Thou wilt keep in perfect peace,

Because he trusts in Thee.

"Trust in the Lord  forever,

For in God  the Lord , we have an everlasting Rock.

NEH 6:9

For all of them were trying to frighten us, thinking, "They will become discouraged with the work and it will not be done." But now, O God, strengthen my hands.

PSA 27:1 The Lord is my light and my salvation;

Whom shall I fear?

The Lord is the defense of my life;

Whom shall I dread?

PSA 27:2When evildoers came upon me to devour my flesh [men acting like savage beasts],

My adversaries and my enemies, they stumbled and fell [David recalls past victories].

PSA 27:3Though a host encamp against me [presently],

My heart will not fear [the heart is where fear resides];

Though war arise against me [seeming hopeless situation],

In spite of this I shall be confident [because of God].

PSA 27:4One thing I have asked from the Lord, that I shall seek:

That I may dwell in the house of the Lord  all the days of my life,

To behold the beauty of the Lord,

And to meditate in His temple.

What David has asked for he seeks. That is confidence in prayer. What you ask for - go after and trust the Lord’s fulfillment.

This is not literal dwelling in the tabernacle since no one lived there permanently, but spiritual dwelling in the presence of the Lord no matter where he was. David takes the doctrine he learned in the tabernacle with him wherever he goes.

This has never been more true than in the Church age where the full realm of doctrine has been completed and revealed through the indwelling Spirit, for now we are, in our very bodies, the tabernacle of God.

PSA 23:6

Surely goodness and lovingkindness will follow me all the days of my life, And I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.

The CA believer can confidently say that he is in the house of the Lord forever.

John 14:23

Jesus answered and said to him, "If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him, and make Our abode with him.

They are in you, but abode means to reside in peace, meaning fellowship or partnership with your Father and His Son.

John 8:35

"And the slave does not remain in the house forever; the son does remain forever. \

All other blessings are included in this, so that this one thing is, and shall always be, the Psalmist's ruling desire. To be with God in communion is to enjoy all that God is in character and that is the supreme virtue of God that can be shared with His children; from His personality to yours.

For David, the tabernacle, and subsequently the temple, symbolized the union between God and His true worshippers, dwelling in spirit with Him there.

PSA 27:5For in the day of trouble He will conceal me in His tabernacle; In the secret place of His tent He will hide me; He will lift me up on a rock.

Not even the priests resided in the temple continually, and so this is a hiding by the wall of fire because of David’s love of God’s person and word.

In our passage, after the report of the ten spies, the people plotted to stone Moses, but he was protected by God’s glory in the Tabernacle.

NUM 14:10

But all the congregation said to stone them with stones. Then the glory of the Lord  appeared in the tent of meeting to all the sons of Israel.

Though David’s people so often neglected the temple and only followed ritual without reality as they worshipped idols, his heart was not like this. His love of God led to his love of God’s Law and God’s house.

PSA 69:9

For zeal for Thy house has consumed me,

And the reproaches of those who reproach Thee have fallen on me.

David is a type of Christ as prophet, priest, and king.

MAR 11:17-18

And He began to teach and say to them, "Is it not written, 'My house shall be called a house of prayer for all the nations'? But you have made it a robbers' den."  And the chief priests and the scribes heard this, and began seeking how to destroy Him; for they were afraid of Him, for all the multitude was astonished at His teaching.

When you stand up for the truth concerning God those under the influence of the spirit of the world will seek to destroy, discredit, or hurt you in some way. Stand strong for you have nothing to fear from men.

It is the word of God that stands forever and not the building that represented Him, for the tabernacle and both temples have been shaken to the ground and are gone, but David’s songs have gone on forever.

People have asked me how many people are in our church and where is our building. Not many and we’re in a basement is always my reply and I often mention the small cost of the place. And I know it’s a common and typical question, but does the building matter and does it matter how many are involved? We all know the answer to that. That is not to discredit large churches. If they are teaching truth or at least Christ crucified as Savior then we should all rejoice, but what matters is not the building or the number of people who show up to it, but do they reside in that house in their souls, the real temple now? Do they take the doctrine with them and conquer their lives with it? That’s what’s important and that’s what will glorify God. Many large churches have become places of merchandize and the doctrine has taken second or third place.

PSA 27:5For in the day of trouble He will conceal me in His tabernacle; In the secret place of His tent He will hide me;

He will lift me up on a rock.

PSA 27:6And now my head will be lifted up above my enemies around me; And I will offer in His tent sacrifices with shouts of joy [in the midst of his enemies]; I will sing, yes, I will sing praises to the Lord.

This is the happiness of God since it is joy in the midst of great adversity, so it is a joy that does not depend on circumstances.

PSA 27:7Hear, O Lord, when I cry with my voice,

And be gracious to me and answer me.

PSA 27:8When Thou didst say, "Seek My face," my heart said to Thee, "Thy face, O Lord, I shall seek."

DEU 4:26

But from there [dispersion among the nations] you will seek the Lord  your God, and you will find Him if you search for Him with all your heart and all your soul.
