Angels possess personalities [intellect, sensibility, and will] as men do and so most likely no two of them are alike personally.

Therefore, like us, no two of them have the exact same experiences. Therefore, God’s leading of you is not the same as anyone else. No two of us have the same personalities or the same experiences.

God has not given man a steering mechanism. He cannot lead himself. God has willed that only He can steer, JER 10:23.

You’ve heard of a woman’s intuition - that is not spiritual. We are to answer our own questions and make our own decisions based on the truth of the word of God and the leading of God the HS. This is accomplished by being willing to do the will of God and being available, humble, listening, and praying. Women have a tendency to get emotionally charged and to jump to conclusions.

A pastor was once contemplating an offer to lead a larger congregation in another state. A visitor to their home asked the pastor’s son if his father had decided to move to the larger church. The boy said he didn’t know and that his father was upstairs in his room and had been praying for a long time for guidance and that his mother was in the kitchen packing the dishes.

JOH 16:13

"But when He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth; for He will not speak on His own initiative, but whatever He hears, He will speak; and He will disclose to you what is to come.

JER 10:23

I know, O Lord, that a man's way is not in himself;

Nor is it in a man who walks to direct his steps.

One cannot contemplate the expressed helplessness of David without a consciousness of a like need of divine guidance.

PSA 5:8

O Lord, lead me in Thy righteousness because of my foes;

Make Thy way straight before me.

No one should be “hanging out the fleece.” Don’t ask God for signs or make deals with God in the enthusiasm of, “If this happens then I know that God wants me to do that.”

And no believer should be looking for guidance through another believer, but only from God himself. No one else knows God’s will for your life. No two experiences are the same therefore; no one else’s experiences should guide your own.

ROM 8:14

For all who are being led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.

No one rule governs the guidance and leading of God, in fact there are no rules at all. The believer must be available and listening in humility. It is a very personal and intimate thing for each of us. To those who by constant attention and prayer are made familiar with the Spirit’s ways of guiding them, the leading becomes one of the richest experiences known to the believer’s heart.

A good question would be, “How do I know I’m being led by God, or how do I know I’m in the will of God?”

You are in the will of God if you are willing to do the will of God (active imperatives and middle imperatives)

Angels are superior to men as we have seen that man was made for a little while lower than the angels, however, in the future they will be subject to believers.

1CO 6:2 Or do you not know that the saints will judge the world? And if the world is judged by you, are you not competent to constitute the smallest law courts?

1CO 6:3 Do you not know that we shall judge angels? How much more, matters of this life?

PSA 40:2

He brought me up out of the pit of destruction, out of the miry clay; And He set my feet upon a rock making my footsteps firm.

The relative importance of man and angel cannot be complete without full knowledge that although man is now sunken in a pit of destruction and in miry clay, when he is redeemed, he is lifted up to a place of secure standing on the Rock and is destined to be conformed to the image of Christ, which final estate is far above that of the angels.

Beyond the mere part that angels have in the affairs of men, there is little suggestion about those larger spheres of activity into which the angels enter. That discussion reaches no satisfactory conclusion for want of even elementary knowledge regarding the reality that the angels live. We can only count on the revelation of the Bible and stop at the point that God becomes silent concerning these creatures.

Though some human beings and certain angels now withhold their worship of God, the greater part of the angels are before His throne in ceaseless adoration.

It can be no small issue in the divine counsels that certain creatures fallen in sin withhold their note of praise from the One to whom all honor is due. This repudiation could not go on forever. It is gratifying to read that, in His kingdom reign, Christ will put down all rule and authority, and that, at the close of this present age, He will, by the ministry of angels, gather out of human spheres all things that offend.

The Scriptures imply that the angels do have embodiment and exist in a finite space though they are spirits.

Therefore they do not have human limitations, but also, they are not a spirit as God is spirit being omnipresent.

Yet when the believer is glorified he receives the same resurrected body as the glorified Lord, which is flesh and bone and not spirit, though this body is superior to angels.

1CO 15:44

it is sown a natural body, it is raised a spiritual body. If there is a natural body, there is also a spiritual body.

PHI 3:21

Who [TLJC] will transform the body of our humble state into conformity with the body of His glory, by the exertion of the power that He has even to subject all things to Himself.

1CO 15:39 All flesh is not the same flesh, but there is one flesh of men, and another flesh of beasts, and another flesh of birds, and another of fish.

1CO 15:40 There are also heavenly bodies and earthly bodies, but the glory of the heavenly is one, and the glory of the earthly is another.

1CO 15:41 There is one glory of the sun, and another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars; for star differs from star in glory.

1CO 15:42 So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown a perishable body, it is raised an imperishable body;

1CO 15:43 it is sown in dishonor, it is raised in glory; it is sown in weakness, it is raised in power;

1CO 15:44 it is sown a natural body, it is raised a spiritual body. If there is a natural body, there is also a spiritual body.

1CO 15:45 So also it is written, "The first man, Adam, became a living soul." The last Adam became a life-giving spirit.

1CO 15:46 However, the spiritual is not first, but the natural; then the spiritual.

1CO 15:47 The first man is from the earth, earthy; the second man is from heaven.

1CO 15:48 As is the earthy, so also are those who are earthy; and as is the heavenly, so also are those who are heavenly.

1CO 15:49 And just as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly.

The heavenly image that all CA believers take on will not be the spirit bodies of angels, but the resurrection body of our Lord.

LUK 24:37 But they were startled and frightened and thought that they were seeing a spirit.

LUK 24:38 And He said to them, "Why are you troubled, and why do doubts arise in your hearts?

LUK 24:39 "See My hands and My feet, that it is I Myself; touch Me and see, for a spirit does not have flesh and bones as you see that I have."

He did not imply that a spirit has no body at all, but, rather, that they do have bodies which in constitution are different from those of men and the resurrected Christ.

Angels have on occasion appeared as men and then at other times in dazzling white and blazing glory.

GEN 18:2

And when he lifted up his eyes and looked, behold, three men were standing opposite him; and when he saw them, he ran from the tent door to meet them, and bowed himself to the earth

And, in fact, they eat and drink as does the resurrection body of our Lord.

MAT 28:2 And behold, a severe earthquake had occurred, for an angel of the Lord descended from heaven and came and rolled away the stone and sat upon it.

MAT 28:3 And his appearance was like lightning, and his garment as white as snow;

MAT 28:4 and the guards shook for fear of him, and became like dead men.

MAT 28:5 And the angel answered and said to the women, "Do not be afraid; for I know that you are looking for Jesus who has been crucified.

MAT 28:6 "He is not here, for He has risen, just as He said. Come, see the place where He was lying.

Medieval art has seized upon the account (DAN 9:21) that an angel “flew swiftly” as the ground of their imposition of wings upon all angelic beings. It is true, however, that the cherubim, seraphim, or living creatures, are said to have wings. And as such the cherubim appear in golden images above the ark of the mercy seat.

Angels pass from one locality to another with incredible speed (DAN 9:21).

DAN 9:20-21

Now while I was speaking and praying, and confessing my sin and the sin of my people Israel, and presenting my supplication before the Lord my God in behalf of the holy mountain of my God, while I was still speaking in prayer, then the man Gabriel, whom I had seen in the vision previously, came to me in my extreme weariness about the time of the evening offering.

The abode of the angels is the earth, the atmosphere (first heaven), the stellar universe (second heaven), and the throne of God (third heaven).

MAR 13:32

"But of that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but the Father alone.

The tabernacle represents the heavens and it had three parts. Outside the walls represented the earth, but the inner court represented the atmosphere in which Christ would die, the holy place represented the stellar universe, and the holy of holies represented the throne of God; the third heaven.

HEB 8:4 Now if He were on earth, He would not be a priest at all, since there are those who offer the gifts according to the Law;

HEB 8:5 who serve a copy and shadow of the heavenly things, just as Moses was warned by God when he was about to erect the tabernacle; for, "See," He says, "that you make all things according to the pattern which was shown you on the mountain."

HEB 4:14 Since then we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God

HEB 9:24 For Christ did not enter a holy place made with hands, a mere copy of the true one, but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us;

The number of angels is uncountable.

How many angels are there? They are depicted as stars and it is approximated that there are 300,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 stars in our universe.

God obviously knows their number, but they are presented to man as uncountable. Thus there may be billions of angels for every person created.

DAN 7:9 "I kept looking Until thrones were set up,

And the Ancient of Days took His seat;

His vesture was like white snow,

And the hair of His head like pure wool.

His throne was ablaze with flames,

Its wheels were a burning fire.

DAN 7:10 "A river of fire was flowing

And coming out from before Him;

Thousands upon thousands were attending Him,

And myriads upon myriads were standing before Him;

The court sat,

And the books were opened.

PSA 68:17

The chariots of God are myriads, thousands upon thousands;

The Lord is among them as at Sinai, in holiness.

REV 5:11-12

And I looked, and I heard the voice of many angels around the throne and the living creatures and the elders; and the number of them was myriads of myriads, and thousands of thousands, saying with a loud voice,

Myriad is either 10,000 or an innumerable multitude therefore doubling the term along with the thousands of thousands means a very vast amount.

10,000 x 10,000 = 100,000,000. 1000 x 1000 = 1,000,000.

100,000,000 x 1,000,000 = 100,000,000,000,000 (100 trillion)

If we add them we only get 101 million which isn’t enough for one angel to minister to each believer.

Since these are elect angels that would mean that 100 trillion angels are serving God’s purpose and providing God’s service to believers on the earth. The number of Christians on the earth is estimated to be 2 billion. This means for every Christian there may be 50,000 ministering elect angels. That’s a little different from the unfounded suggestion that believers have one guardian angel.
