Behold the Glory of Christ Before You Have To (Matthew 25:31-46).
length: 77:21 - taught on Jan, 11 2026
Class Outline:
Sunday January 11, 2026
Main idea: Do not wait to behold the glory of Christ and you will live like Him to the extent that you will not even be conscious of the blessings you effect on the many people around you.
The immediate emphasis is glory - brightness, splendor, radiance, authority, power.
“But then …” is the transition from the:
“Therefore be on the alert …”
“For this reason you also must be ready …”
“the master of that slave will come on a day when he does not expect him and at an hour which he does not know …”
“But at midnight there was a shout, 'Behold, the bridegroom! Come out to meet him.' …”
“Now after a long time the master of those slaves came …”
“But then …” suddenly, when no one knew, and what an entrance! What a staggering scene!
"But when the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the angels with Him, then He will sit on His glorious throne. 32 "All the nations will be gathered before Him; and He will separate them from one another, as the shepherd separates the sheep from the goats; 33 and He will put the sheep on His right, and the goats on the left.
The whole world longs for glory.
People have always loved celebrities and long to look upon them.
Do not let your heart envy sinners,
But live in the fear of the Lord always.
For I was envious of the arrogant
As I saw the prosperity of the wicked.
He humbled Himself to the point of death on the cross.
He has no stately form or majesty
That we should look upon Him,
Nor appearance that we should be attracted to Him.
The carpenter from the northern sticks of Nazareth. The same prophet:
Galilee of the Gentiles.
The people who walk in darkness
Will see a great light;
Those who live in a dark land,
The light will shine on them.
The one who would:
"He will not cry out or raise His voice,
Nor make His voice heard in the street.
While the world longed for celebrity and power to behold, why so quiet and set away?
The world will see pure glory when they don’t expect it …
There will be some who will expect it:
"Now learn the parable from the fig tree: when its branch has already become tender and puts forth its leaves, you know that summer is near;
They have looked into His word and seen His glory already.
Seeing the glory of Jesus Christ before the second coming.
But to this day whenever Moses is read, a veil lies over their heart; 16 but whenever a person turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. 17 Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. 18 But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as from the Lord, the Spirit.
The saints in the Tribulation have the expectation of the second coming of Christ and they have, even unconsciously, supplied love to the heavily persecuted believing Jews who fled to the mountains.
Why do the Gentile saints in the Tribulation risk their necks to help the Jewish saints? The love of God is in them because they beheld the glory of the Lord before the Lord returned.
Many others since the beginning of God’s revelation of Himself in human history, have seen the glory of God.
Think of what the prophets saw in their visions. Daniel saw the ascension of Christ and His second coming.
“I kept looking in the night visions,
And behold, with the clouds of heaven
One like a Son of Man was coming,”
But then there was someone like David who did not have such visions, but somehow saw the glory of God to inspire half of the poems in the Psalms.
Lift up your heads, O gates,
And be lifted up, O ancient doors,
That the King of glory may come in!
8 Who is the King of glory?
The Lord strong and mighty,
The Lord mighty in battle.
9 Lift up your heads, O gates,
And lift them up, O ancient doors,
That the King of glory may come in!
10 Who is this King of glory?
The Lord of hosts,
He is the King of glory. Selah.
If David could see His glory without an actual vision (that we know of) then how?
Don’t wait to live this out.
But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord.
Reading and listening to God’s Word while filled with the Holy Spirit.
Every knee will bow and every tongue confess; but for those who do so before they are forced to (before their will to is taken away); great is their reward!
You will not fear anyone or anything in life: ROM 8:18
For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory that is to be revealed to us.
You will not fear death: 1CO 15:42-44
So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown a perishable body, it is raised an imperishable body; 43 it is sown in dishonor, it is raised in glory; it is sown in weakness, it is raised in power; 44 it is sown a natural body, it is raised a spiritual body.
You will impact many others for their good and benefit:
Therefore, accept one another, just as Christ also accepted us to the glory of God.
Your heart will often experience the surprise of joy:
to the praise of the glory of His grace, which He freely bestowed on us in the Beloved.
to the end that we who were the first to hope in Christ would be to the praise of His glory.
who is given as a pledge of our inheritance, with a view to the redemption of God's own possession, to the praise of His glory.
And you will sometimes wonder -
“My Lord Jesus, who is still mocked by the nations, will one day come in ‘His glory’ will all His angels and sit on ‘His glorious throne.’”
In this event, we see the glory of Christ revealed in His Second Coming (a flashing forth like lightning all over the globe at the same time [MAT 24:27],
Behold, He is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see Him, even those who pierced Him; and all the tribes of the earth will mourn over Him. Even so. Amen.
accompanied by millions or billions of angels, and His bride) …
When Christ, who is our life, is revealed, then you also will be revealed with Him in glory.
Then His glory is revealed by taking the throne of David over His kingdom (over the whole earth), and then His glory is revealed by His power to gather all the nations of the earth at His command and His authority to judge them all.
