Discerning between human good and divine good. John 14:12; 1 Co 3:10-23

Jer 17

 

/John 14:12 "Truly, truly, I say to you, he who believes in Me [the preposition “eis” shows us that this is not for salvation but post salvation faith in His word], the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go to the Father.\

 

We will establish why they are greater after we define the works themselves.

 

/ “works” - ergon[ergon] = any product, act, deed, or thing done. This applies to what we think, say, or do.\

 

The difference between the divine good work of the last Adam and the cursed work of the first Adam is the independence from God chosen by the first Adam.

 

/The work of the first Adam was a curse, but the work of the Last Adam is a source of happiness and glory.\

 

Jesus Christ is the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end.

 

/Before human history began He was entered into the world by decree of God as the light of the world.

 

GEN 1:3 Then God said, "Let there be light"; and there was light.\

 

 

/Therefore He is the firstborn of all creation.  

 

Col1:15

And He is the image of the invisible God, the first-born of all creation. \

 

This truth is why cults like the JW’s refute His deity. But Christ, God the Son, was decreed to come into the world as a man to be the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world.

 

/John 1:29

The next day he saw Jesus coming to him, and said, "Behold, the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world! \

 

/Acts 2:23

this Man, delivered up by the predetermined plan and foreknowledge of God, you nailed to a cross by the hands of godless men and put Him to death. \

 

/1 Peter 1:19-20

but [you were redeemed] with precious blood, as of a lamb unblemished and spotless, the blood of Christ. For He was foreknown before the foundation of the world, \

 

/The Light has come into the world to dispel darkness [curse work]

 

John 1:5And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it. John 1:8 He [Baptist] was not the light, but came that he might bear witness of the light. \

 

So the first light is the humanity of TLJC, making Him the unique one of the universe and the celebrity of the universe as the God-Man. Therefore, He is the first work and at the cross, the last work.

 

/John 19:30

When Jesus therefore had received the sour wine, He said, "It is finished!" And He bowed His head, and gave up His spirit. \

 

So then, the work curse was reversed by Jesus Christ, the Last Adam.

 

/1 Cor 15:45

So also it is written, "The first man, Adam, became a living soul." The last Adam became a life-giving spirit. \

 

Christ has restored the human spirit through His sacrifice and so we are now equipped for the divine good works that He did as well during the incarnation.

 

These works are far different in substance than human good works.

 

Our recovered spirit, which makes us brand new creatures in Christ, is vital in the metabolization process by which our hearts can now be filled with epignosis doctrine by which divine good works are accomplished.

This is supernatural. It goes way beyond a bunch a nice people doing nice human good things for others, which is nothing more than human morality that any unbeliever can do.

 

When you enter the CWL, “I am the way,” though God the Holy Spirit has imputed the human spirit making you a brand new creature in Christ, there is no doctrine in there and the heart remains sick.

 

JER 17:5 Thus says the Lord,

"Cursed is the man who trusts in mankind [human viewpoint]

And makes flesh his strength [human good],

And whose heart turns away from the Lord.

 

/If your heart turns away from the Lord it must be turned towards somewhere else. What else is on the market? \

 

/2 Tim 4:3-4

they will accumulate for themselves teachers in accordance to their own desires;and will turn away their ears from the truth, and will turn [will be turned] aside to myths. \

myths = seeming truths that have no substance

 

JER 17:6 "For he will be like a bush in the desert

And will not see when prosperity comes [no joy and appreciation for logistical grace],

But will live in stony wastes in the wilderness,

A land of salt without inhabitant.

 

JER 17:7 "Blessed [happinesses] is the man who trusts in the Lord

And whose trust is the Lord.

 

JER 17:8 "For he will be like a tree planted by the water,

That extends its roots by a stream [water = BD]

And will not fear when the heat [adversity] comes;

But its leaves will be green [prosperity of heart],

And it will not be anxious in a year of drought [strong testing]

Nor cease to yield fruit [divine good].

 

Now comes the explanation of why the water of the word of God is needed. Again, we are born spiritually dead, dichotomous, having only body and soul, and being separate from God all of our work and production falls under a curse.

 

JER 17:9 "The heart is more deceitful than all else

And is desperately sick;

Who can understand it?

 

 

JER 17:10 "I, the Lord, search the heart,

I test the mind,

Even to give to each man according to his ways,

According to the results of his deeds [human good or divine good].

 

/Divine good begins with the pastor teacher communicating the truth to you, and then the rest is up to your volition to be filled with the Spirit and believe the truth of God. \

 

EPH 4:11 And He gave some as apostles, and some as prophets, and some as evangelists, and some as pastors and teachers,

 

EPH 4:12 for the equipping of the saints for the work [ergon] of service, to the building up of the body of Christ;

 

EPH 4:13 until [pastor keeps teaching] we all attain to the unity of the faith [doctrine - that which we believe], and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a mature man, to the measure of the stature which belongs to the fulness of Christ.

 

EPH 4:14 As a result [God giving the gift of the human spirit, the heart, the word, the Spirit, and the gift of PT], we are no longer to be children, tossed here and there by waves, and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, by craftiness in deceitful scheming [various categories of false doctrines and human viewpoint];

 

EPH 4:15 but speaking the truth in love [agape = lack of MAS], we are to grow up in all aspects into Him, who is the head, even Christ,

 

EPH 4:16 from whom the whole body, being fitted and held together by that which every joint supplies [joint = PT, supplies = full realm of doctrine], according to the proper working of each individual part, causes the growth of the body for the building up of itself in love [agape = humility and no MAS].

 

EPH 4:17 This I say therefore, and affirm together with the Lord, that you walk [lifestyle] no longer just as the Gentiles [unbelievers] also walk, in the futility of their mind [human viewpoint; human good],

 

EPH 4:18 being darkened in their understanding [no HS so comprehension is of human viewpoint], excluded from the life of God [eternal life as well as zoe life], because of the ignorance that is in them, because of the hardness of their heart;

EPH 4:19 and they, having become callous [scar tissue in the soul], have given themselves over to sensuality, for the practice of every kind of impurity with greediness [other forms of human viewpoint].

 

God doesn’t want us to have fun? What is lust? It is an inordinate desire for something, and that something fits hundreds of categories. Compare the fulfillment of man’s lust with the fulfillment of spiritual maturity.

 

EPH 4:20 But you did not learn Christ in this way,

 

EPH 4:21 if indeed you have heard Him and have been taught in Him, just as truth is in Jesus,

 

EPH 4:22 that, in reference to your former manner of life [sick heart], you lay aside the old self [OSN controlling the heart], which is being corrupted in accordance with the lusts of deceit,

 

EPH 4:23 and that you be renewed in the spirit of your mind [human spirit - process of metabolization],

 

EPH 4:24 and put on the new self [be filled with the Spirit], which in the likeness of God has been created in righteousness and holiness of the truth.

 

/Holiness of the truth means that you set apart the mind of Christ as top priority and acknowledge it as the only source of integrity.\
