Title: Names of God; part 41. Conclusion of Yavah and beginning of Elohim.
1Jo 3 and Rom 6 reveal to us the conduct of the good son in the house of the Lord. All sons are in the house, but not all sons willingly choose to follow the Master's way. Being a son in the house, with the banquet of goodness always in front of me and my cup always running over, having the seed of the divine within me, there is every propulsion to the life that is Christ.
JOH 8:34 Jesus answered them, "Truly, truly, I say to you, everyone who commits sin is the slave of sin.
“commits” - present participle of poieo = continually practice. Enmity towards the flesh, hatred towards sin, the desire to wage war against the flesh, the desire to live unto Him are all grace gifts.
JOH 8:35 "And the slave does not remain in the house forever; the son does remain forever.
JOH 8:36 "If therefore the Son shall make you free, you shall be free indeed.
The church age believer is given the spiritual aspects of the New Covenant. “This is the new covenant in My blood.”
EZE 36:26 "Moreover, I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; and I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh.
EZE 36:27 And I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will be careful to observe My ordinances.”
The prophecy states that the Spirit would cause you to walk in His statutes. The Hebrew word asah is the verb “to make, create, or do” and so it would not imply that He would force the saint to walk in the manner of his calling. It wonderfully states that the Spirit would be in us in order to give or to create within us the power and wisdom to walk in the plan of God, and not only that, but the desire to do so as well.
Php 2:12 So then, my beloved, just as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your salvation with fear and trembling;
Php 2:13 for it is God who is at work in you, both to will and to work for His good pleasure.
The grace gift to desire the plan of God also must come with the grace gift to desire to deny ungodliness.
Php 2:14 Do all things without grumbling or disputing;
Php 2:15 that you may prove yourselves to be blameless and innocent, children of God above reproach in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you appear as lights in the world,
Php 2:16 holding fast the word of life, so that in the day of Christ I may have cause to glory because I did not run in vain nor toil in vain.
MAT 16:24 Then Jesus said to His disciples, "If anyone wishes to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me.
MAT 16:25 "For whoever wishes to save his life shall lose it; but whoever loses his life for My sake shall find it.
MAT 16:26 "For what will a man be profited, if he gains the whole world, and forfeits his soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?
MAT 16:27 "For the Son of Man is going to come in the glory of His Father with His angels; and will then recompense every man according to his deeds.
TIT 2:11 For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all men,
TIT 2:12 instructing us to deny ungodliness and worldly desires and to live sensibly, righteously and godly in the present age,
Don’t miss that. The grace of God, that brought salvation, instructs us to deny ungodliness and worldly desires and to live sensibly, righteously, and godly.
TIT 2:13 looking for the blessed hope and the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Christ Jesus;
TIT 2:14 who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself a people for His own possession, zealous for good deeds.
That concludes our study of what it means to be a son in the house of Yavah, our Host.
Other YHVH’s of note are:
The Lord my God, the Lord my Father, the Lord most High God, the Lord God of Israel, the Lord your Sanctifier, the Lord our Maker, the Lord our Righteousness, the Lord my Rock and Redeemer, the Lord God of David, the Lord my Rock.
We now turn to the use of the name Elohim.
The Bible opens with "Elohim."
GEN 1:1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.
