Title: Angelic Conflict part 139: Human history – Heb 3; Gal 5:22-26; Psa 102:25-27; Isa 46:9-10; Exo 3:13-15; 1Pe 1:3-7; 1Co 9:24-27.

The writer quotes Psa 95:8-11

Heb 3:7 Therefore, just as the Holy Spirit says [divine inspiration of OT],

"Today if you hear His voice,

The rebellion of the exodus is as pertinent today as it was then. What is most important today is if you will hear His voice through the intake of doctrine.

Heb 3:8 Do not harden your hearts as when they provoked Me, As in the day of trial in the wilderness,

Hardening of the heart begins when the celebrityship of Christ comes in conflict with some other priority in your soul.

The symptoms of this are a sloppy doctrinal intake and a resultant sloppy spiritual life.

It can begin when you don’t deal with mental attitude sins through divine problem solving, or you get your eyes on people or things, or you get your eyes on the frustrations and disappointments in life. Something begins to cloud your occupation with Christ and something or someone else dethrones Him in your soul.

Signs of beginning reversionism: sloppy doctrinal intake; loss of contentmentpeacerest; frantic search for happiness; anger, depression, desolation.

Happiness and rest or tranquility of soul has been left for God’s people and the pure stuff, which doesn’t depend on circumstances, is only in God through His word and Spirit.

Know that choosing to stray from the word or deny it or doubt it will rob you of this birthright to God’s people.

A rest that depends on circumstances is not pure. When tested it shows that this worldly or pseudo rest is reactionary, dependent, and not self existing.

Gal 5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,

Gal 5:23gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.

The Law is conditional as a set of rules that are to be followed, but this fruit is unconditional and self-existing, i.e. either you have them or you don’t.

Gal 5:24Now those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.

This is your position in Christ. Yes, every believer falls under the rulership of the flesh from time to time resulting in following its passions and desires, but it is no longer true after salvation that the believer has to be under this cruel master, for Christ crucified the flesh and now He is the believer’s Lord, which opens the door for the believer to yield to Him with the result that he lives under His rest.

Gal 5:25If we live by the Spirit [made alive by the baptism of the Spirit at salvation], let us also walk by the Spirit.

It is logical and rational that one would walk by means of what makes him alive. Your brain sends signal to your leg muscles to do work while your vital organs supply the energy and your balance supplies the coordination. You don’t ask someone or something else to do this for you. In the same way, if you are alive in Christ and the flesh has been crucified, why ask the flesh to do your walking?

Every believer has been given this birthright:

Eph 5:8-10

for you were formerly darkness, but now you are light in the Lord; walk as children of light (for the fruit of the light consists in all goodness and righteousness and truth), trying to learn what is pleasing to the Lord.

Gal 5:26Let us not become boastful, challenging one another, envying one another.

Boasting is arrogant dependence on self, which is not self-existing. Challenging another is competing in which we can be shown at any given time to be better or worse than another sinner, who is not permanent or self-existing and neither is the competition an eternal thing. Envying falls under the same category and for the same reasons. These things are arrogant, futile, temporary, earthly, finite, and fruitless, and therefore, they are not of God but against Him.

God is self-existing and does not change, and so must be His virtues.

Mal 3:6

"For I, the Lord, do not change; therefore you, O sons of Jacob, are not consumed.

Psa 102:25 "Of old Thou didst found the earth;

And the heavens are the work of Thy hands.

Psa 102:26 "Even they will perish, but Thou dost endure;

And all of them will wear out like a garment;

Like clothing Thou wilt change them, and they will be changed.

Psa 102:27 "But Thou art the same,

And Thy years will not come to an end.

He does not change and is the only self-existing One, having no beginning and no end and therefore, so are any of His virtues. They do not depend on anything else.

Isa 46:9 "Remember the former things long past,

For I am God, and there is no other;

I am God, and there is no one like Me,

Isa 46:10 Declaring the end from the beginning

And from ancient times things which have not been done,

Saying,'My purpose will be established,

And I will accomplish all My good pleasure';

How blessed to you think God’s good pleasure is? How much more blessed do you think it is than man’s good pleasure or your own? And your own means not His for His good pleasure does not compromise at all. This good pleasure was established long before you or me and long before the earth was made and so it is not subject to deviation, compromise, or going unfulfilled.

Psa 90:2

Before the mountains were born,

Or Thou didst give birth to the earth and the world,

Even from everlasting to everlasting, Thou art God.

Isa 43:13

"Even from eternity I am He;

And there is none who can deliver out of My hand;

I act and who can reverse it?"

God holds the monopoly on love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. None of these can be had without having them from the source of Him and that source is His word and Spirit. Each are supernatural and self-existent and all human substitutes, including our own schemes to obtain them in the world, are dependent, finite, weak forgeries.

As Christ gave of His life so that we would move from death to life so God the Father through God the Son and HS gives His character so that we would move from darkness to light.

God does not possess a transitional existence as if He is dependent on a succession of events. God is absolute Spirit and is eternally unchanging.

God is the I AM. The universe is that which becomes. God is eternal. The universe is the progressive and never-completed revelation of Him in time and space.

Exo 3:13 Then Moses said to God, "Behold, I am going to the sons of Israel, and I shall say to them, 'The God of your fathers has sent me to you.' Now they may say to me, 'What is His name?' What shall I say to them?"

Exo 3:14 And God said to Moses, "I AM WHO I AM"; and He said, "Thus you shall say to the sons of Israel, 'I AM has sent me to you.'"

Exo 3:15 And God, furthermore, said to Moses, "Thus you shall say to the sons of Israel, 'The Lord, the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has sent me to you.' This is My name forever, and this is My memorial-name to all generations.

 “I AM WHO I AM” – the self existent One, who always was, always is, and always will be.
