Last week we studied 20 defense mechanisms that are systems of evil, under human viewpoint, that mankind has used to solve problems. Defense mechanisms give temporary relief followed by more intense problems. If used long enough psychosis results from layers of scar tissue in the soul.
The Church-age believer is indwelt by the person of Christ as well as God the Holy Spirit and together they are to produce kings. Every believer is a king or lord in the royal family of God in position. In that position, every believer has Jesus Christ as his King and High Priest.
/Rev 17:14 "These will wage war against the Lamb, and the Lamb will overcome them, because He is Lord of lords and King of kings, and those who are with Him are the called and chosen and faithful." \
/God did not elect kings so that they should continue to live as peasants. Kings overcome adversity rather than being subject to it.\
So for this reason God has given us problem solving devices in His word. These are the systems of thinking that the king uses to solve his own problems while in the midst of the invisible war.
You are free to reject defense mechanisms and to learn and apply divine problem solving devices to all adversity. The PSDs are a part of the PPOG.
/The spiritual life that God has provided just for you has all the solutions to every single problem you will ever face.\
Solutions that are not only designed to solve your problems but to make you a better person as well!
So, continuing under point 5, the relationship of the indwelling HS to the indwelling Christ, we cannot complete the issue of defence mechanisms without reviewing the ten problem solving devices.
The problem solving devices provide the means of winning the four great battles in your soul. The divine solution is the only solution, and the human solution is no solution, 2 Cor 12:9.
2 Cor 12:9 And He has said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness." Most gladly, therefore, I will rather boast about my weaknesses, that the power of Christ may dwell in me.
2 Cor 12:10 Therefore I am well content with weaknesses, with insults, with distresses, with persecutions, with difficulties, for Christ's sake; for when I am weak, then I am strong.
/Four arenas of battle: (1)The battle of stress in the soul. (2) The battle of sin in the soul. (3) The battle of false doctrine in the soul. (4) The battle of wrong solutions or wrong priorities of the soul, including defense mechanisms.\
Problems and adversities are a constant in life. No one is excluded no matter how privileged or wealthy they may be.
/Adversity is always outside of your soul while stress is inside. Adversity is what is done to you while stress is what you do to yourself by refusing to use God’s PSDs.\
/ 1. Rebound; 2. F/HS; 3. Faith rest drill; 4. Grace orientation; 5. Doctrinal orientation; 6. Personal sense of destiny; 7. Personal love for God; 8. Impersonal unconditional love for all mankind; 9. Sharing the happiness of God; 10. Occupation with Christ.\
The physical environment you live in doesn’t contribute to lasting happiness. At the beginning of human history mankind was in a perfect environment and chose to make himself miserable. At the end of human history mankind will be again in a perfect environment, the Millennium, and he will again chose to make himself miserable.
/It is the environment of the soul that makes a person truly happy. The Church-age believer is called to share the happiness of God. \
The perfect environment of the soul is the PPOG. The plan of God cannot be executed in human wisdom or the energy of the flesh. A perfect plan can only be operated under perfect wisdom and perfect power.
/People cannot be emphasized above God. Neither can materialism or personal successes. These create an environment of misery.\
Good relationships with people stem from a good relationship with God and not the other way around.
/Adversities from people and circumstances are a constant in everyone’s life, but the PSDs solves problems before they become stress in the soul.\
Verse 19 is a command to perceive doctrine under the F/HS with maximum concentration and without MASs. This is the sphere of love.
James 1:19 This you know [command – “know this”], my beloved brethren. But let everyone be quick to hear [command to perceive doctrine under strict concentration], slow to speak [both verbal and soul speaking – you can’t be talking, even in your soul, when you are learning doctrine] and slow to anger [you can’t have MASs when learning doctrine];
James 1:20 for the anger of man does not achieve the righteousness of God. / “man” aner [aner] = noble man. Every believer is a believer priest in the RFOG and therefore a king. The CA is the age of kings.\
Kings under the protocol of royalty are to have poise and not arrogant or emotional anger. This anger will become a defense mechanism. The call is to live in experiential righteousness, the RFHC, and the production of divine good. That is the function of the temple of God that is in this age the royalty of the believer priest.
James 1:21Therefore putting aside all filthiness [rebound to restore fellowship with God] and all that remains of wickedness [overflow of MASs], in humility receive the word implanted, which is able to save your souls.
/ “receive” – dechomai [dechomai] – to embrace as in love, to receive with enthusiasm. This is recognition of the authority of the word of God and the PT.\
It’s never the man, it’s always the message. The word of God, and in our context, the PSDs are to be taught in a monologue setting, from the PT to you. There should be no talking or even talking in your soul, but maximum concentration on the word of God that is powerful to deliver your souls from adversity.
/ “implanted” – emphutos [emphutos] – impregnated or germinated. This is not knowledge but metabolized knowledge that has cycled through the human spirit into the heart where it becomes a part of you.\
So we have an embrace and an impregnation. They go hand in hand. This is not a one night stand, but a love relationship in which you embrace doctrine under genuine humility, understanding it’s authority as the mind of Christ.
Believers can listen to doctrine day in and day out and not have it impregnated. It’s just knowledge and God’s word does not become a part of them. It doesn’t change them.
When metabolized by the Spirit of God the word of God becomes a part of your norms and standards and your memory center in your heart. It changes you. It transforms you into the thinking of Christ making Christ at home in your hearts, which is spiritual autonomy.
Don’t be fooled. God did not elect you to royalty so that you could become a Bible scholar full of knowledge but without the transformation that God’s word will accomplish for the one who embraces it as a lover and gets impregnated by it that it is forever available to handle all adversity from their heart.
The hearer only is full of knowledge but in reversionism. He may shoot doctrine at you but that same doctrine hasn’t transformed him. He actually gets bored with doctrine many times because his favorite doctrines are not being taught.
/The embracer of doctrine that gets impregnated with doctrine understands that he needs to embrace the full realm of doctrine.\
In this process, whatever your human IQ is, it is excluded. God the HS gives you a spiritual IQ that is limitless to comprehend and store doctrine.
James 1:22But prove yourselves doers of the word, and not merely hearers who delude themselves.
A doer of the word, here the legalist grin from ear to ear, begins in the soul. You cannot do what you do not understand. This is a reference to application of doctrine that you have metabolized.
If you run out and try to do, whether it is Christian service, witnessing, praying, giving, helping, etc., and you are attempting it in human power, then you have fallen under evil. God finds our human power disgusting and revolting. A right thing must be done in a right way.
/Believers who apply the word must have first metabolized the word to the point where it has transformed their souls to at least SSE.\
A believer cannot produce hardly any divine good until he has at least attained the spiritual stage of personal love for God. Without that love the believer’s motivation will be misplaced, which usually falls under the evil of approbation lust.
In verse 22, the hearer of the word that has not become impregnated by the word so as to be transformed is deluding himself into thinking he is living the CWL. He is arrogant and ignorant, which always leads to self-deception.
/Eph 2:10 For we are His workmanship [His doers], created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them. \
James 1:23For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man who looks at his natural face in a mirror;
/The word “looks” means to look thoroughly and thoughtfully. This is to look at yourself as you really are and you understand that no matter what your distorted view of yourself may be, by contemplating yourself for a long time in the mirror you understand that you have plenty of flaws.\
The first two perfect humans are long gone.
This continues to be in the context of the hearer who does not embrace and metabolize the word. The word points out to us all that we are helpless and hopeless without God. It points our that the only time we are strong is when we recognize the weakness of the flesh and draw power from God’s Spirit and word. The word of God points out the grace of God and the grace procedures of God for the CA, like the PSDs.
/The hearer only, hears these things but they do not take root as epignosis in his right lobe, and so when he is done with his perception of doctrine he soon forgets all about them.\
James 1:24for once he has looked at himself and gone away, he has immediately forgotten [disregarded] what kind of person he was.
This is why believer fail to solve their own problems and continue to revert to their favorite defense mechanisms. They perceive but they don’t embrace. They keep hearing but do not hear. They can shoot doctrine at you but it has never impregnated them. Ultimately they are hypocrites, actors, deceivers, and worst of all they are deceiving themselves. |
